Your backups never reach us

KeepTick stores backups where you choose: a disk, your Google Drive, your own server. Files are encrypted on your Mac before they leave, with a key that never leaves your Mac. We do not receive your files, their names, the encryption key or the credentials of your services.

When you connect Google Drive, the app talks to Google directly from your Mac and can access only the files it creates.

What data we process

Purchase: name, email, billing address and VAT number if any. They are collected by Stripe, which handles the payment; we never see your card details.

License and free trial: an anonymous identifier of the Mac (a fingerprint that cannot be traced back to the serial number), the computer name, the app version and the dates of activation and last check. They are needed to count the Macs a license is active on and to start the trial only once.

Account: the email the sign-in link is sent to and a technical cookie that keeps the session open.

Security: the IP address of requests, to limit abuse.

Why we process it

To provide your license and support (performance of the contract), for tax and accounting duties (legal obligation) and to protect the service (legitimate interest). We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Cookies

The site uses technical cookies for the account area and to remember your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are turned on only if you accept them in the cookie box; details are in the cookie policy.

Who helps us

Stripe handles payments. The site is hosted on servers in Germany and emails are sent through an Italian mail provider. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics receives aggregated browsing data. These providers process data only on our behalf.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer: the conditions of Article 37 GDPR are not met.

For how long

Billing data is kept for ten years, as the law requires. License data for as long as the license exists; account sessions expire after thirty days.

Your rights

You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it or receive a copy, and object to its processing, by writing to info@svmedia.it. We reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
